With over a decade of experience, we have the knowledge and expertise to engineer, design and build any system to meet your needs.
Commercial solar installations are much different from residential or utility scale projects not only on the financial side, but also in the equipment choices and general construction process. We are experts in our field. We guide you in making the right choices, and ensure everything is installed properly and working correctly.
In commercial projects there is a 30% Federal Tax Credit, as well as possibility for an additional 10% Federal Tax Credit. Clients are also able to depreciate the solar system using Accelerated Depreciation, Modified Accelerated, or MACRS. The financials for each commercial solar system are different and need to be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
There are even some cases where the utility will not allow any backfeeding of the solar system onto the grid. These projects can be a little more in depth, but we have the know-how and experience to be able to install exactly what is needed.
The equipment selected for rapid shutdown devices, inverters, and MLPE (Module Level Power Electronics) tend to be a bit more simplified but at the same time more powerful on commercial installations. Owners often like to have a different level of monitoring and accessibility. When we build commercial projects we are also able to offer things like complementary publicly available Kiosks and other visible dashboards. These dashboards offer a high level view of the solar installation that the owners can allow the public to view. In conjunction with this, we also are able to provide very detailed analytics showing string level monitoring for the entire system that is only accessible with a password protected site. Customarily, we also see that our commercial scale customers like to have a bit more weather data pulled into the monitoring platform than we do in residential installations. Usually we monitor residential projects by each panel, however when the systems get bigger it makes more sense to look at the string level.
In the early days of commercial and residential rooftop solar, the systems were not as safe as they are now. The National Electrical Code (NEC) changed in 2017 and any system installed now is much safer when built to the new standards. We adhere to these rapid down requirements in our installations and through best practices ensure that our panels, racking, wire management and roof mounted gear are built to last and as safe as possible.
At 691 Electric we understand what it takes to work on commercial properties. We have been on job sites of every size and are able to work with any safety program. All of the Site Leads at 691 Electric carry an OSHA 30 certification and everyone on the install team has at least OSHA 10. We hold daily safety meetings and will also attend any site-specific meetings at the facility we are working on.
We offer Operations and Maintenance (O and M) Agreements for all commercial projects. We take pride in all our installations and look forward to keeping them operating at full capacity throughout the lifetime of the system.
