691 Electric services the Outer Banks, Eastern North Carolina and beyond. With over 10 years of exclusive solar experience, we understand what it takes to build clean, functional and good looking projects. We work directly with homeowners, contractors and developers to ensure we design and build exactly what meets the clients needs.
We install and maintain residential and commercial solar installations, with projects across North Carolina and Virginia. We’re a turnkey company and take on the design, engineering, procurement and construction of any project. We also work with all the municipalities and utilities in the area and drive the permitting from start to finish.
Safety is paramount to 691 Electric. We hold weekly safety meetings and are dedicated to creating a safe work environment. We continually audit our safety practices as our company continues to grow. Job hazard analysis meetings are held daily on-site to ensure that no task is completed without safety in the forefront.
Our name, 691 Electric, is derived from the chapter in the National Electric Code (NEC) that governs utility scale solar installations. At conception, 691 Electric was focused on maintenance and installation of these larger solar farms. Our President, Paul Kueck (PK), had a strong interest in the renewable energy sector, getting his big break in the solar industry in 2012. After working with a large EPC from Georgia, running their projects and gaining a wealth of experience, Paul took a leap of faith and started 691 Electric in 2020.
Paul's pioneering spirit has pushed him to the cutting edge of solar, and enabled 691 Electric to become the premier solar contractor for Northeastern North Carolina area and beyond. He is regularly sought out for his particular expertise and trusted with both utility scale installs as well as smaller commercial and residential projects.
We don’t finance projects or have a business model where we lease panels back to the homeowner. We believe the homeowner or business owners should own the array on the property. Recently, there has been an influx of companies with predatory loans, giving the residential solar industry a bad name. We distance ourselves from these types of companies and practices. If 691 Electric completes the install, the homeowner or landowner will own the project on their land.
The solar panels customarily have 25 year warranties, and the main equipment and components have 10-25 year warranties. There are no maintenance fees once a system is installed. A free monitoring app is also included for the lifetime of the system.
Federal tax credits are available for solar projects. We can show you the options and how to navigate the incentives your utility offers. We can model any potential system and provide accurate production and return on investment (ROI) numbers. The financials for building a system in Dominion or Duke's territory vary greatly from those in Cape Hatteras, Tideland, or any of the other local Electric Member Cooperatives (EMC’s). Our thorough knowledge of these utilities, and our solar installation expertise, will ensure your system matches your needs and maximizes the savings available.
For Commercial systems, we can walk you through the financials and provide the depreciation rate and projected ROI estimates. Our capabilities enable us to engineer, procure and construct any size system.
After earning his degree, Paul started working for a large construction company on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, framing and siding. During this time, he obtained his Contractors license in North Carolina and started a remodeling business. Paul ultimately decided that while he enjoyed the construction industry, he had a stronger interest in the renewable energy sector and started looking for a good fit to transition into the industry. In 2012, Paul got his break in the solar industry and partnered up with a large EPC from Georgia that had a few projects in North Carolina. Paul ran the projects for the EPC, eventually moving from the Outer Banks to work full time for the company. In 2020, with a wealth of solar industry experience gained, Paul and his growing family moved back to Nags Head and started 691 Electric.
Jennifer Kueck grew up on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina and attended East Carolina University. Years later, she decided to pursue a career in Nursing, earning her degree at a community college in Smithfield, NC and working as an ICU Nurse. Jennifer always knew she would eventually move back to the Outer Banks and, with a growing family, the time was right in 2020. She maintained her nursing license, transitioned into the solar industry alongside Paul and they made the move back to North Carolina, forming 691 Electric.
